Kemosabe Charters supplies all necessary tackle, bait, licenses, and a cooler full of ice. Additional ice will be provided to keep fish cold if you wish to keep a fish or two for dinner.
Items that I would recommend to bring along are as follows:
-
Sunscreen: 30 SPF or greater. The sun can be brutal here, so it's better to overdo the sunscreen coverage so you don't end up with a painful burn.
-
Lip Screen: 30 SPF or greater. Sunburnt lips are no fun either, so pick up a tube of lip balm when you get your sunscreen.
-
Sunglasses: A pair of polarized sunglasses with amber colored lenses are a must for fishing the flats. Polarized lenses enable you to see the fish in the water much better than regular, un-polarized sunglasses. These glasses can be purchased here at any tackle shop if you can't find any where you live.
-
Rain Gear: A light-weight packable rain suite is a good idea. On a flat boat there is no place to hide from the rain. Many times, a rain shower only lasts 5-10 minutes before clearing, but without rain gear, that's long enough to get soaked.
-
Hat with Brim: Any ball cap will do. This will give you added sun protection along with keeping the direct sun out of your eyes.
-
Lunch: We do not provide any food or beverage. Bringing a sandwich, a few snacks and plenty of water is recommended.
