The yearly migration of large tarpon through the Florida Keys offers anglers of all skill levels the opportunity to hook up to one of the premier gamefish in the world.

During the months of May, June and July, it is very common to hook & land tarpon 100 lbs or greater. These giants will often provide the angler with long drag screaming runs accented by spectacular jumps. The average time it takes to boat one of these larger fish is usually 45-60 minutes. They don’t give up easy!

There are basically two different ways to catch tarpon in the Florida Keys. One way is with live bait using a 20-30 lb heavy spinning rod or conventional outfit. The other way is to use fly tackle and sight cast to cruising fish.

Whichever way you prefer to tarpon fish, it can definitely be the most exciting type of fishing you will ever experience.
